Leadership Skills for Today's Organizations

NCS’s Organizational Leadership B.A. gives students both the leadership skills needed to develop and lead dynamic, ethical, and highly effective organizations as well as the practical management skills needed to formulate budgets, understand regulatory and legal issues, and manage organizational operations.


Leadership in Theory and Practice

Students in the program don't just study leadership--they practice it. You'll learn from hands-on exercises how to build teams, manage change, crisis, and diversity in the workplace, communicate effectively, and motivate your colleagues and employees.

Financial and Managerial Skills

Students in the program gain the practical managerial skills and knowledge needed for success in any organization, including financial management, communication and presentation skills, human resources, and organizational law.

Portfolio-based Instruction

The Organizational Leadership B.A. emphasizes experiential and project-based learning. All of our programs are focused on building portfolios of work in which students showcase their classwork and projects for future employers.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:


  • Demonstrate an understanding of how leadership and organizational management concepts and their application relate to service to others, social responsibility, ethical practice, and commitment to justice.

  • Demonstrate financial literacy and apply a comprehensive set of practical financial concepts and tools in organizational settings.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of major organizational and general management concepts and practices (such as change management, human resource management, organizational communication, and legal issues in organizations) and apply them in organizational settings.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of diversity (national, ethnic, cultural, gender, etc.) and the issues, opportunities, and challenges related to managing a diverse workforce.

  • Articulate a personal leadership philosophy based on authenticity as well as leadership and organizational scholarship and apply it to individual, group, organizational, and societal contexts.

  • Demonstrate exemplary written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
